The handling of the child was not within school policy, trust policy, team teach training or the law and is indefensible.

Broken Trust is a three-part documentary about an autistic, barely verbal child who came home from school injured, and what happened when his parents asked how it occurred. When CCTV evidence was uncovered and ignored, the focus shifted from safeguarding to suspicion. The child’s father was formally accused of behaviour that was entirely unsupported by evidence, an allegation capable of causing devastating reputational harm and raising serious questions about retaliatory and malicious communications. Told from the perspective of a parent with expertise in digital manipulation, the series reveals how digital evidence and safeguarding policies can be weaponised to silence challenge, and asks what happens to parents without the knowledge or resources to defend themselves. Above all, it is about pursuing justice for the most vulnerable in our society when powerful systems attempt to quietly make their cases disappear.

Released alongside the documentary is a comprehensive evidence pack containing CCTV file stills, metadata analysis, correspondence, policy documents, and official records obtained through formal requests. This material is published to ensure transparency, allow independent scrutiny, and prevent misrepresentation of the facts presented in the series. By making the underlying evidence publicly available, Broken Trust invites journalists, regulators, safeguarding professionals, and the wider public to examine the record for themselves, ensuring that the claims raised are supported by verifiable documentation rather than assertion or opinion.
